When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Ecover Global accelerated our product offerings as well as refocused and adapted our business development efforts. We were able to achieve this due to the hard work of our innovative team members, under the strategic guidance of our dynamic advisory board. The Ecover Global advisory board is comprised of accomplished experts in a variety of fields and perspectives.
Dr. Richard Munassi, MD MBA: Dr. Munassi is the Cohort Director at the Tampa Bay Wave and provides a strong startup background focused on Healthcare Technology and early-stage business development. In addition to his involvement with Ecover Global and the Wave, Dr. Munassi also is the co-founder of Blackfin Technology Partners, is a Mentor/Speaker at MassChallenge, is a National Judge for NASA’s iTech program, is a National Judge for Established’s Startup of the Year Competition, is an International Judge for the Inventure$ Competition, and more.
Brian Kornfeld, MBA: Brian is truly immersed in Florida’s entrepreneurial and innovation communities as CEO and Co-founder of Synapse Florida, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit creating the nexus for entrepreneurs, investors, and businesses to connect with the resources they need to accelerate success and drive Florida’s economic growth. Through Synapse, Brian is increasing the visibility of Florida’s innovation communities across the entire industrial, commercial, municipal, and educational spectrum to attract and retain talent and build thriving businesses for generations to come.
Brian, a Tampa Bay native and a rocket scientist, is the President of the USF Executive MBA Alumni Advisory Council and supports many local missions and companies as an advisor or partner. He is a Six-Sigma Black Belt, Lean Expert, and Certified Scrum Product Owner. Brian is a 2018 recipient of the prestigious Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Business Up and Comers of Tampa Bay. He is also nationally recognized in The Business Journals’ Influencers: Rising Stars as one of the top 100 business executives across the country who are having a positive impact relatively early in their careers on their companies and their communities, and who could be shaping how business gets done for years to come.
Henry Hinton: Henry is currently pursuing an electrical engineering PhD at Harvard University with a research focus in optoelectronic devices using 2D materials and CMOS bioelectric interface design. A bioengineering graduate from UC Santa Cruz, Henry concentrated in bioelectronics. While pursuing his PhD at Harvard, Henry is one of Ecover’s student innovators serving as a Product Development Advisor. Here he advises on product development and analytics, performs QA testing to optimize current functionalities, roadmaps future modules, and is responsible for the creation of Ecover’s “Surgical Journey Tracker.”
Ashley Sweinhart: Ashley is a Sales Director–Emerging Services West for NetSuite. She’s responsible for guiding a team of Account Executives to expand NetSuite’s presence in cloud-based Business Management solutions for emerging services organizations. She helped create the emerging services vertical two years ago, which has now grown into a team of more than 40 managers and Account Executives. She has spent the last five years becoming an expert in cloud technology and working with c-suites of small to mid-sized businesses to help automate financial operations and other business processes so that they can ultimately scale their companies and achieve aggressive growth trajectory goals.
John Parks, CSM: John Parks is a serial entrepreneur from Tampa, Florida. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2014 with a bachelor of science degree in economics. Concurrent with his academic studies, John completed Naval training and was commissioned as a Surface Warfare Officer in 2014. His five-year naval career spanned numerous commands including the USS Oscar Austin and USS Kearsarge, where he primarily specialized in operational intelligence and security. John was honorably discharged from the Navy in 2019 and now owns and operates Innovation Elite, a medical marketing company, as well as a national telehealth network, Noble TeleHealth. He also serves as VP of strategic partnerships at Ecover Global. His service and dedication to helping others while in the military, and now in the civilian sector, is coupled with his unique ability to synthesize contract solutions to problems across multiple industries.
Brian Sallee: Brian is an executive coach and disruptive strategist as CEO of Avorit, a nationwide growth agency. He’s also a serial entrepreneur, seasoned technology executive, and expert on cloud technology and disruptive marketing. Featured on the radio and in webinars, and a frequent speaker at conferences, Brian also authored Invisibilify: Cloud Computing and Its Impact on Business. Amongst other ventures, Brian founded and held the CEO position for Reviora, a cloud computing business, before selling to Tribridge Holdings, which was then acquired by DXC, the largest end-to-end IT company in the world. Today he helps scale technology businesses using the proven ModernScale methodology. In addition to his work with Ecover Global, Brian is also a member of the Board of Directors for Mango Insight, a machine learning and big data firm.
Christy Vogel: Christy is President and Founder of Marketing Direction, a marketing consulting firm that advises small to medium-sized businesses. With over 25 years of marketing experience, Christy has served in executive leadership roles for both agencies and corporations at a variety of companies. She volunteers with South Florida Make-A-Wish Foundation and has provided pro-bono work for the Junior League of Tampa. She also serves on the boards of USF Digital Marketing, SIOR FL Chapter, and Rotary Club of Tampa. She has been twice honored with Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Best in the Biz Reader’s Choice Award for Favorite Public Relations Marketing Professional and was nominated for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Business Woman of the Year. Her firm, Marketing Direction, was honored as one of the Tampa Bay’s top women-owned businesses in 2015, 2016, and 2017 by the Tampa Bay Business Journal.
Maria Matarelli, CST: Maria is the Founder and President of Formula Ink, an international training and consulting firm, as well as co-founder of the Agile Marketing Academy and Personal Agility Institute. She is certified in Agile Leadership and is a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) and Certified Agile Marketing Trainer (CAMT). She also recently became a certified Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner by IBM. Maria provides Agile Coaching and Training for the Ecover Global team as well as Executive Coaching.
Michelle Griffin, MA, PHR, SHRM-CP: Michelle owns Griffin Resources, LLC and serves as a fractional HR executive for small to mid-size businesses focusing on HR initiatives for project implementations and performance improvement for recruitment, training, career pathing, employee development processes, compliance, and benefits administration. She is earning her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Michelle also sits on the Board of Directors for HR Tampa, is a member of the UT Board of Fellows, a member of the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, and a volunteer for High Hopes in High Heels.
Monica Martino Angel: Monica is the Director of Community Engagement for Synapse, a nonprofit that connects entrepreneurs, investors, and other stakeholders to accelerate success in Florida’s thriving innovation communities. She also founded and serves as the Executive Director of the Cure Kids’ Cancer Now! Foundation, which funds research for less toxic treatment options for kids with brain cancer and provides education and family support in honor of Emmi Grace Angel and the countless other children who have died from kids’ cancers. Monica is proud to serve as a Leader of the Philanthropic Women of St. Joseph’s Hospital, as the Director of Community Affairs for Hope4ATRT, and a member of The Parent Advisory Council for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Tampa.
Aakash Patel: Entrepreneur Aakash Patel founded Elevate, Inc., a strategic business consulting firm providing public relations, community relations, targeted networking, and social media. A Florida State University graduate, master networker, and community leader, before Elevate, Inc.’s launch, Patel was an Editorial Assistant at the Tampa Bay Times Tallahassee Bureau, the Public Relations Coordinator for the Westin Tampa Bay hotel and Aqua restaurant and was the founding Business Development Director for Chamber.com. With robust experiences, Aakash stays focused on leadership, community, military, life-long learning, and connecting. Current leadership roles include: The Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County, The University of Tampa, Seminole Torchbearers, Centre Club Tampa Board of Governors, SeacoastBank, Gasparilla Film, Tampa Economic Development Corporation, TiE Tampa Bay, Tampa Bay Rays 100, Leaders’ Friday Luncheon, Synapse Board of Directors, TBBJ Leadership Trust, and Superbowl LV Host Committee (2021).
Patel is the 2018 Hindu-American Foundation’s Leader of the Year and the 2019 Indo-US Chamber Businessman of the Year. Previously, Aakash served in formal positions for: Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce, 6th Air Mobility Wing, Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) Awards, and College Football Championship Host Committee. Patel ran a community-focused, professional race for the Hillsborough County Commissioner District 7 seat in 2018.

Teddi Barber, MBA: Over the course of the past decade, Teddi Barber has become synonymous with driving business excellence through her expertise in financial performance analysis, industry evaluation, strategic planning/modeling, and organizational development. A highly proficient strategist, Teddi is a true catalyst for business disruption and igniting innovative change. As Vice President of Stonehill, she embodies the vision of the enterprise in its efforts to inject entrepreneurial agility and innovation to its client portfolio.
Prior to joining Stonehill, Teddi served as part of the corporate management team for Shriners Hospitals for Children®, where she managed the organization’s largest division at its international headquarters. For more than seven years, her sphere of influence spanned corporate financial management (invested capital and operational cash flow), leadership of large-scaled programs directed at value generation and financial risk reduction, contracting/ negotiations, and identifying cross-synergistic opportunities for high return yields. Preceding her position in healthcare, Teddi held management roles in a real estate and civil litigation law practice as well as a design and consulting firm, from which she garnered a unique skill portfolio transferable across varying industries.
Teddi holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of South Florida and is pursuing her Fellowship with the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). Passionate about change management, Teddi is a noted speaker on strategic vision, cultural change, and business agility. As equally weighted as her passion for business, Teddi is committed to investing her time and energy in serving philanthropic organizations in the Tampa Bay community. Teddi is on the Board of Directors for the Centre for Women and has served other philanthropic organizations in the Tampa community in an advisory capacity.
Tony LaForgia: Tony LaForgia is the Executive Director of the AdventHealth Carrollwood Foundation. He has more than 20 years of development, philanthropic, and fundraising experience. Tony was most recently the Director of Business Relations for Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida, one of the most successful and recognizable zoos in the nation. He helped develop a largely successful corporate relations program for the zoo and maintained relationships with over 350 local businesses during his tenure. Since joining AdventHealth Carrollwood, Tony has translated his experience, community knowledge, and enthusiasm to the efforts of the Carrollwood campus. Through his leadership and fundraising efforts, multiple projects at Carrollwood have become a reality, including the new hybrid catheterization lab, emergency department expansion, and cafeteria renovation.
